They've all been working for the same dysfunctional cult from day one.
They can have each other.
The only true Dem in the race for the salvation of American Democracy has always been Hillary Clinton.

And she will beat down the door to that boys club & eliminate them all by Nov.

MPOTUS NOV 2016

Hilary Rodham Clinton is one of the most powerful female politicians in the world.

Saying “some woman some day”  is a cop out.  There has never in our history been a candidate like this one.  This woman. NOW!

because we refuted them.

Implications that we were too stupid to read Sanders' positions didn't work...and backfired.

Gender-based insults didn't work and also backfired.

What's left? Fear, m'dear. Appeals to fear, a page out of the Republican playbook.

We should point out that I, personally, think that Trump won't be much of a challenge for either Clinton or Sanders. The electorate isn't paying much attention to the concept of the general election just yet.

But there's no way Trump walks in with AA, Hispanic, or any other minority vote, and I'm not too sure about the Evangelicals, either. You can't win if you give up at least a quarter of the US population, some of whom would crawl over broken glass to vote against you.

In their minds Hillary is the personification of evil. She has 10th most liberal voting record when she was in the senate and voted with Bernie 93% of the time but to them none of that matters.

Quite frankly most of them are not ever Democrats

Mon Feb 22, 2016, 04:58 PM
Feb 2016

Can't imagine anyone voting Trump. But Democrats? Please. If this is suppose to be a scare tactic, it's a pretty silly one.

I absolutely agree with the comment made upthread: minorities and the vast majority of women will not vote Trump, this year or any other. They will crawl over broken glass to cast a vote against the biggest, most arrogant misogynist, xenophobe running. The Republicans are bad news. Trump is an absolute nightmare. So much so that I think you'll see Republicans stay home. Or vote for the Democratic nominee. I actually heard a Jeb Bush supporter say that the man (Trump) was no better than an adolescent in his behavior and demeanor. She'd vote Democratic before pulling the lever for The Donald.

I'm with her.

1. Both Trump and Sanders want to "shake Washington" - whatever this means

2. Many voters adore celebrities, look at Reagan and Schwarzenegger (and Sonny Bono that the guy from the Love Boat)

3. Trump will "pivot" once he gets the nomination: pro-choice, taxing the rich, and health care system "like Canada."

What I don't understand, is why our jury system allows such posts to stand. I've seen some hidden for less than promoting a Republican candidate.

It just struck me that suddenly today there were several threads saying that it looks like Trump will be the next president, Hillary will lose against him, etc. Just seemed weird that this new meme would suddenly pop up.

It would be amusing, if it was not so shocking that some folks seem quite enamored of the idea. I consider Trump to be an echo of Adolf Hitler, so I do NOT find him amusing.

GOP to be an institution not unlike the third reich and candidates in it to be christian terrorists....so sometimes you have to let a filthy pig take the other filthy pigs down...that is my thought on it...GOP was already disgusting ....so if Trump wants to take down their clubhouse I say let him have at it...he's an outsider they will be pissed they won't cooperate with him...the Death of the GOP...some on the left have already pronounced them dead...they have sunk like the titanic....I say put a slinky dress and stilletos on Trump...give him a bouquet of confederate flags...and let him be their prom queen....HRC is ready to hit the ground running and take the nation further...building on obama's vision....evolution....not revolution....Cheers, Maggie

I think the old style basic conservative Republican is all but dead. It's been replaced by the likes of Trump and Cruz. What concerns is me is the rhetoric that is coming from them now. As much as I despised Bush and saw him as proto-Fascist, he still had a more open attitude about US Muslims. With the recent crop, especially Trump, Carson, and Cruz, that went out the window.

I am involved in inter-religious dialogue and fear for my Muslim friends.

22. well Trump will not be prez
Mon Feb 22, 2016, 07:11 PM
Feb 2016

which means he will have absolutely no political power having never been in politics and he will fade away like Mitt Romney....I am all for interfaith dialogue....
I know the USA has more minority religions than any country in the nation...not only that but we have the who muslim diaspora...plus american converts both black and white...I grew up in a military town full of many war brides and interfaith marriages and families that were bi-cultural/dual national...with more than one religion...so I am for the peaceful co-existence of all

which as you are know only happens with inter cultural, inter faith dialogue....that's the only way it works in a multi-cultural democracy...

.so my firm belief is Trump will fade away after losing election.....it does not mean hate is conquered ....we have many hate groups in the USA....go to the southern poverty law center ...for those stats...

it just means that racism, xenophobia, misogyny will not win in our institutions....I firmly believe it takes team work to make sure it does not gain ultimate power....

look the hate/fascism will always exist coming from all sources...no one has the market cornered on ignorance and bigotry...the point is ...we all...collectively ...the good people are responsible for not allowing it to have power....so Trump is hot air and his balloon will burst when he's not elected...that's a win against hate that generates violence. I acknowledge political parties use hate groups to gain votes through fear...this generates violence.. but we are not going to let this win...are we I know I'm not.....cheers, Maggie

25. yes hateful rhetoric
Mon Feb 22, 2016, 07:33 PM
Feb 2016

by political organizations does spur hatred ...because what they do is inspire fear that the "other" is taking over taking power....so political organizations definitely do use hate of all kinds based on economics, class, nationality, gender, religion, etc...and yes ignorant people buy into the hate rhetoric...and act out violently in different ways....toward people or property...etc...so it's a real thing for sure...I don't know if you are an american muslim or immigrant muslim....but USA is going through a another cultural evolution/revolution....we have been through them before....over slavery, over women's rights, civil rights, still ongoing...we have made a lot of progress as a nation actually and I think what we are experiencing is some backlash....but I believe we'll get through it....you never make societal progress without some violence unfortunately ...I wish it were not that way....it would be great if humans would evolve....more quickly

I think the reality of white Christian hegemony soon to be overtaken by demographic changes makes a lot of people fearful.

I'm not Muslim at all. I am an immigrant, although I've lived in the US for most of my adult life (nearly 20 years now). I'm a Christian religion scholar. But precisely as a progressive Christian I reject the fascism from the Right.

Anyway, I don't really fear that Trump will become prez. My thread was just a comment on the weirdness going on in GD-P today. It just seemed very Rovian that so many Bernie supporters suddenly wrote about the same thing.

To progress instead of hate!
