American Samoa Up First! (Hillary Clinton Group)

American Samoa's caucus will be held at 2 PM Eastern time and will award 6 pledged delegates to the Democratic National Convention.

The caucus is quite small (AS only has about 55,000 residents), low key, held at a single hotel, and should report in fairly quickly. Expect results by 4 to 5 PM.

Hillary Clinton won the AS caucus in 2008, 57 to 43. There were 285 caucus-goers in 2008 (this is not a misprint).

results will be at http://abcnews.go.com/Politics/american-samoa-results-election-2016/story?id=37193418 .

Among the superdelegates, Clinton has 4 pledged to her while 1 delegate is pledged to Sanders. The expected split for the pledged delegates is predicted to be tied at 3 each.

A more important election is also occurring as Samoans make a quest for citizenship. Samoans are the only people in a U.S. territory that are not granted birthright citizenship. More discussion on the caucus and the citizenship issue at: http://democratsforever.freeforums.net/thread/4524/super-tuesday-american-samoa-bigger .

A big proportion of American Samoans serve in the US armed forces, and have given their lives for a country that doesn't really consider them citizens. It is a disgrace. All the unincorporated territories and the District of Columbia should together be given electors in the Electoral College in proportion to their combined population.

me that "why I support sanders" BS the other day.

It had been building up because she was always sending missives dissing the President .. so it all came down on her then.

Let's put it this way.. I better not be hearing from her ever again. she's gone.
