Thanks for nothing, Elizabeth Warren: How the Democratic Partys rock star missed her chance, hurt the progressive agenda
The appetite was there for a truly progressive candidate to topple the Clinton machine. That candidate did not run
Michael Garofalo
"Elizabeth Warren could have been the biggest political story of 2016. Well, at least, the biggest story other than Donald Trump. Right now, she could have been coasting toward a Super Tuesday landslide and locking up the Democratic nomination. It doesnt take a wild imagination to picture it.
Instead, Warren is nowhere to be found, unless youre a Democratic donor on the receiving end of DNC email blasts signed by the Massachusetts senator. Raising money like this or lending her name to these emails might be her biggest contribution to the Democrats in the 2016 cycle. And unfortunately, thats why Super Tuesday is likely to seal the nomination for Hillary Clinton tonight."

They've been trying to wedge SC in since Saturday to make room for tonight's states - ya know, the other states that we should ignore because they don't matter.

(16,104 posts)Hesitant to vote for that DINO.
BlueCaliDem
(15,438 posts)I'll vote for a true-blue Democrat before I waste my vote on another DINO.
But Hillary is just a FAR better candidate than any running on either side. She's got what it takes to take this country further than President Obama has already done (which is already impressive!), and we're all going to do so well under her leadership and political savvy. After all, she's married to the Democrat who brought us peace, prosperity, 22 million jobs, and higher wages, and I'm certain she'll do even better than him.
I'm so excited!

(6,537 posts)It's never, ever Bernie's fault. I'm getting very tired of that. Very tired. Bernie can never fail, it's just everyone else failing Bernie.

A girl can dream...but I'd settle for an endorsement

(11,584 posts)...and she did urge Sec. Clinton to run in the first place. It would make sense for her to endorse the winning candidate as well. I hope your referred to "rumor" is correct.

(15,438 posts)supporters treated Hillary, her supporters, and most importantly, her colleagues in both the Senate and the U.S. House, she decided to switch to Hillary but didn't want to be hurled under the bus this early in the game. I have no doubt she'll endorse Hillary Clinton soon since she's got nothing to lose now. Not that it matters to me. I was more interested if Rep. Elijah Cummings, Jim Clyburn, John Lewis, and above all, President Barack Obama would endorse - and I'm happy as can be that they've all come to Hillary's side...although PBO still has to officially endorse, but we all know who he prefers, thanks to Jay Carney.
"I don't think there is any doubt that he wants Hillary to win the nomination and believes that she would be the best candidate in the fall and the most effective as president in carrying forward what he's achieved," said Carney, a CNN contributor.

(11,619 posts)Please go back to playing the Hulk, or acting in light romantic comedies, because you rant against Warren is ridiculous and shows a lack of knowledge in history and the American reality. Warren is a Progressive Rockstar, a true liberal, a brilliant woman, and a great Senator. Even if she had supported Sanders, she would not have saved him.
It is the rank and file of the Democratic Party's big tent that is rejecting Sanders.

(1,053 posts)Or they're disappointed that they had to settle for Bernie instead of Warren?
Or that they really don't care, and just wanted anyone who they thought
could beat Hillary?
Oh, I actually went to the top of the full link and got the answer...
"The appetite was there for a truly progressive candidate to topple the
Clinton machine. That candidate did not run."
So I guess, it was anyone but Clinton...Warren first choice...Bernie was
a settle.
So isn't this kind of....actually throwing both Warren AND Bernie under
the bus?
Like, what in the hell???

How was Sanders parochial? Simply put, he cared a lot about our increasingly rigged economyand it is a doozybut only that. Presidents must show much interest in other things, especially global affairs, which they handle nonstop. Thats a major component of Clintons pitch for herself: that she can manage a dangerous world. She represents a muscular foreign policy, which is a nice way of saying shes happy to pull out the guns. Now, thats not necessarily the best or safest stance. Many Democrats would prefer a less interventionist foreign policy. But Sanders was a limp champion of such an alternative. He stressed that he had voted "No" to authorizing force in Iraq, but he never offered much of a worldview to explain the decision, which meant that it was hard to tell what framework he might bring to future decisions. Clintons vulnerability stayed mostly unexploited

(3,825 posts)by endorsing the Democratic Candidate for President when that is decided. She is a smart woman, and will probably be the next woman to occupy the White House. Yes, that would be the answer to my prayers.
