Be graceful in victory? It is hard to be graceful

When every time I look up someone nails me between the eyes with a meme club.

Oh, I understand the reason for the exhortation to "let them wail and gnash their teeth. They are in grief."

I am no Job and I do not intend to be.

They will need time to process their loss.
How would we feel if yesterdays results were reversed.

Some things I can let pass.
Attacks on African Americans and women becasue they chose a candidate they don't like, that's different.

A lot of hurt feelings on both sides.
But if you were a Clinton supporter here at DU 8 years ago then you should understand what they are going through.
A lot of the same attacks used against Sanders supporters on this page were used against Clinton supporters back then

19. WHAT IS THE GOAL
Thu Mar 3, 2016, 02:06 AM

have some good sense and don't be so into your own precious feelings!

If the goal is to make yourself feel better today, I would posit that you don't really care about politics (or, I hate to say it, the future of the country).

If your involvement in politics simply consists of working toward and hoping for a better and more just future for our country, a little forbearance is easy.

You'll have to ask "what is the goal here?"

I don't know how useful the greater percentage of DU is anyway, but on the oft chance that positive, real world impacts can flow from whatever the hell happens here, you do what yields the best result.

I have never been in politics to secure personal gain or to make myself feel better about myself, except to the extent that I am trying to do the right thing. I am involved in politics because I care about the environment, I care about protection of rights through a more forward-looking court, protection of women's rights, LGBT rights, human rights, rights in the face of predatory corporations, I care about a sane foreign policy as we face up to a frighteningly precarious world. And voters' rights, that's a biggie. It's all about the Court.

And my precious hurt feelings? They don't mean a GD thing compared to the real stuff that is on the line whenever the forces of good and evil meet in November.

We needed to stand up for our point of view and refuse to be bullied by people who sought to intimidate us from speaking our minds and our hearts. We need to keep standing up for that. And perhaps stand for a little deference to reality.

But when the time comes, settling scores will not be where it's at.

our opinions and our votes! By bullying us into silence and non-action!

It's the reason I came on board online after years of just reading the boards here and other websites. Just could not take how our candidate was being attacked by our own side. Knowing that it was just right wing regurgitations that started in the 90's. I remember in the 1990's when HRC could not do anything right for the republicans and the media as 1st lady: constantly badgering her every move and look; deeming everything she did as "inappropiate". As a young woman it was painful for me to watch. I felt like I myself was being put in my place. This all started then, the HRC witch hunt, and they never let go. She must have killed someone's puppy, b/c the tone has always been personal and hateful.
