-- Democratic primary --
Hillary Clinton currently holds a 55% to 42% lead over Bernie Sanders in the Michigan
Democratic primary. Clinton enjoys a solid edge among non-white voters (68% to 27%), who make up
more than one-fourth of the likely electorate. Clinton (49%) and Sanders (48%) are virtually tied among
white voters. Clinton has a 57% to 40% lead among voters who earn less than $50,000 a year, and a 54%
to 42% lead among those who earn $50,000 or more. Sanders holds a solid lead (58% to 39%) among
voters under the age of 50, but this is offset by Clintons more than 2-to-1 advantage among voters age 50
and older (65% to 31%).

So far no major poll has given Bernie a lead in Michigan where he is out spending HRC 2-1. Her leads are from 13-37 points (I discount a Michigan State poll the Bernie folks are posting showing Bernie only 5-points behind because, imo, that is an outliar and it was begun and completed several days ago and these other polls are more recent.

(47 posts)I'm actually going with Hillary as I think she'll fare better in the General but I think Bernie beat her in last night's debate. God bless her- she has baggage.

Hillary Clinton Leads Bernie Sanders By 13 Points On The Eve Of The Michigan Primary
On the eve of the Michigan Democratic primary, a new Monmouth University Poll shows Hillary Clinton leading Bernie Sanders 55%-42%.
According to the Monmouth University Poll:
Hillary Clinton currently holds a 55% to 42% lead over Bernie Sanders in the Michigan Democratic primary. Clinton enjoys a solid edge among non-white voters (68% to 27%), who make up more than one-fourth of the likely electorate. Clinton (49%) and Sanders (48%) are virtually tied among white voters. Clinton has a 57% to 40% lead among voters who earn less than $50,000 a year, and a 54% to 42% lead among those who earn $50,000 or more. Sanders holds a solid lead (58% to 39%) among voters under the age of 50, but this is offset by Clintons more than 2-to-1 advantage among voters age 50 and older (65% to 31%).
.
One-in-ten voters (11%) say they have already cast their ballots in the Democratic primary and another 49% say they have completely decided on their candidate choice. Clinton voters (65%) are slightly more likely than Sanders supporters (58%) to say their choice is locked in, with Clinton voters being twice as likely to have already mailed in their ballots. Another 25% of Democrats have a strong preference but are still open to considering other candidates and 8% have only a slight preference while 6% say they are still really undecided.
.
Most Michigan Democratic primary voters (75%) believe that Clinton will eventually become the partys nominee, including half of Sanders supporters. Just 17% of all primary voters think Sanders will be able to pull it off.
The Monmouth University Poll matches up with two other polls released on Sunday that showed Hillary Clinton with double-digit leads in Michigan. The Democratic race is becoming very consistent. .

(1,968 posts)he's "catching up," and don't realize he needs to go right into "significant win" tomorrow simply to have a chance...and that still probably won't balance MS's delegates, which will be strongly Clinton.
Personally, I'd be entirely happy with Clinton +1. MI's a large, very blue, northern state that's tailor-made to hear Sanders' message. That it didn't would be telling.
