http://www.bloomberg.com/politics/articles/2015-05-24/julian-castro-dismisses-hillary-clinton-e-mail-witch-hunt-v-p-speculationDepartment of Housing and Urban Development Secretary Julian Castro is defending former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton against scrutiny of her Benghazi e-mails, calling it a witch hunt against the Democratic presidential front-runner.
This thing has been studied to death by Republicans and Democrats, several committees including in Congress that have all said, 'Yes, of course what happened was tragic, but Secretary Clinton was not in any way at fault,' and what you have here with these e-mails is basically a witch hunt, Castro said in an appearance Sunday on CNN's State of the Union. He added that House Select Committee on Benghazi Chairman Trey Gowdy, a South Carolina Republican, is very intentionally trying to manipulate this witch hunt to play politics.

If I had a dime for every amount of speculation that happens in D.C., I think all of us would be wealthy, Castro said. Who wouldn't be flattered by that?

He's seems to be on the pre-campaign trail. First time I've seen him interviewed by MSM. Love his story/background. What he does not have in experience in being elected (the Mayor of SA is a figurehead, mostly), he has in being squeaky clean, AFAIK. Those who have experience, almost always have negative baggage.
Edit: He was duly elected as Councilman, then Mayor.

(9,070 posts)so in a few selected cases I've jumped in and argued with the witch hunters. Very frustrating.
I doubt I changed many opinions, but the way some seem to have bought into the Fox news meme about Hillary is just about as crazy as Obama's birth certificate.
Thanks for the link. I had missed this interview.
Julian Castro is very good, wether he becomes the VP candidate or not.

I've taken to just telling them I really don't care who they vote for (I don't, since they are a tiny tiny minority of the party -- let alone the whole electorate).
