Here's what I say, "So you want her to hand you her intellectual property free of charge? Sorry, you'll have to wait for the book when she retires."

When you do creative work for hire, the person who hired you assumes the copyright - and Bernie knows this, because he's sold creative work before. The "speech" issue is a damned-if-you-do thing...if she doesn't release the transcripts Bernie will say she's hiding something, but if she does he'll say she's untrustworthy.

YouTube.

Bernie can claim whatever he wants to, but until he releases more than two pages of his IRS 2014 filing, he's got NO LEG to stand on.

... that she had the rights to the transcripts. I've Googled and can't find anything to verify either idea. I am sure that we can't just assume that she was doing "creative work for someone else." Hopefully someone can find something solid somewhere on the web? I just like to have my facts straight.

This naturally leads to the next question: why is Private Citizen Hillary Clinton's speechmaking to Goldman Sachs a campaign issue and Mayor Bernie Sanders' unsanctioned-by-the-State-Department amateur diplomatic trip to Nicaragua in 1985 NOT a campaign issue?

This quote doesn't apply directly to the Goldman Sachs speeches, but it does illustrate why the "creative work" theory doesn't necessarily apply.

"Hillary Clinton, who faces mounting pressure to release transcripts of her paid speeches, routinely demanded that a stenographer be present at her events so she could maintain a record of what she said.

At least four of Clinton’s contracts include a clause stating a transcript would be produced for Clinton and that the former secretary of state would own them and control their release, according to contracts obtained by McClatchy.
