In desperate need of a big win in the democratic primary to try to reverse his collapsing fortunes, Bernie Sanders finds himself eighteen points behind in the polls in Michigan, just a few days before the state is set to cast its vote. Sanders appears to be failing to connect with the urban African-American population in the Detroit era just as thoroughly as he failed to connect with the more rural African-American population in the South this week.
