-Hey mainstream media, start covering the Bernie Sanders cheating scandals so I don’t have to.

Same way I feel,,,,

Each day I wake up looking forward to covering the 2016 general election, the issues involved, and what we’ll be looking at in November. And each day I instead end up feeling compelled to write about the months-long cheating spree by Bernie Sanders and his supporters. I end up feeling editorially compelled to cover it, because apparently no one else will and someone has to. But it’s my hope that last night’s attempted theft of Nevada, which was blatant and salacious and perfect for television ratings, will prompt the mainstream media to finally take that torch from me – so I can move on and report on more important political things.

First, let’s not pretend Bernie Sanders is still a candidate in this race. Every bit of math from the thirty-five states that have voted, and every bit of analysis from the fifteen states that are about to vote, confirms that he was realistically eliminated awhile ago. He was done on March 15th, to be exact. In fact I tried to be as inclusive as possible the night he was eliminated.

And yet most of the mainstream media spends most of its time cooking up misleading angles in which he can supposedly still get back into the race. Quoting outlier polls. Cooking up fictional stories about superdelegates. It’s all garbage for ratings, of course, because the media believes that people are more likely to tune in for what they think is a close race, than for what they know is an already-decided blowout. And the media’s attempts at keeping the “Bernie can still win” narrative intact has necessitated its refusal to report on his nearly nonstop and escalating instances of lying and cheating.

And yet even as Bernie Sanders gets caught cheating over and over and over and over and over again, almost no one in the media has been willing to touch it but me. I’m getting significant kudos for it. New audience members show up every day because they can’t go anywhere else for the reporting of these facts. Party leaders and celebrities alike are coming out of the woodwork to publicly thank me for being willing to stick my neck out. But while that’s all well and good, I don’t find interest in the escalating cheating antics of a sore-loser candidate who’s too far behind to win even with cheating. This is the salacious nonsense that’s better suited for cable news. And lord knows there are enough potential ratings to be had from the Sanders cheating scandal, because right now I’m the one getting all the ratings from it. But I don’t even want the story. I never did. Taking a liberal like Sanders to the woodshed makes me queasy.
