Hillary Clinton
Related: About this forumHillary is lovely..
I just wanted to make a thread and compliment her on how she accessorizes. I love he way she loves to wear jewelry. I myself adore bracelets, necklaces and earrings. I so wish I could see her collection. I'd like to see her use more lampwork style jewelry. I know many will see this as a shallow post.. It's not, it's just a compliment..

(24,578 posts)After all, we have admired President Obama's appearance and discussed his suit choices.
She is lovely and we should feel comfortable talking about it. I am her age, and I love her look...not botoxed into a rigid mask (think Callista Gingrich, if your stomach can take it), but a natural appearance that compliments her age and doesn't try to conceal it.

(20,450 posts)Mom and I were just discussing the other day how she has such great hair and styles it nicely.
Also, she's not afraid to wear bright red lipstick. I like that.
My mother will be 70 in October and is still absolutely gorgeous. We had been discussing that and Hillary appeared on the screen. She looks really good.

(1,019 posts)I generally tend to ignore when media outlets try to ding Sec. Clinton over her appearance or clothing. First of all, everyone can have a bad hair day once in a while, or an outfit that worked better in theory than in practice. Second, it's all just part of the media bias against female candidates, and as a trailblazer for women in politics, Clinton gets hit the worst sometimes.
I don't think your post is shallow. We can support our candidate just as much as anyone else. Actually, we're clearly supporting our candidate more than any other candidate in this whole race already! So why not celebrate a little?

(4,451 posts)I would absolutely love it if she came out with her own line of accessories. Especially her bracelets.

(718 posts)I've been struck by it myself sometimes watching a speech. I love her jewelry too. I'm a younger woman and honestly, she's effected my style. What I really like about it is that sometimes she looks so stateswomanlike, she looks experienced and traveled, elegant, cosmopolitan, and strong.
I find her to be a positive role model; I think a lot of it boils down to the fact that, the women our culture tends to approve of are approved of because they're seen as sex symbols, and, that's such a deeply BORING thing to have held up to you to aspire to. Clinton represents a far more interesting kind of power.
I'm expecting we'll probably be mocked for discussing it...
But I think she's lovely too.
