On CNN, Rep. Gregory Meeks (Clinton supporter & member of the Congressional Black Caucus)

just said, in response to Tad Devine before him, "People need to look at what was taking place in the `90's. In fact, when I listen to what was just said, some of what I think was insulting to African-Americans...you're saying that African-Americans don't know who or why they voted for individuals. You go back to 1994 or 1996, African-Americans voted for Bill Clinton – 88% of us – are you saying that black people don't know who talks or moves in their best interests? It's almost insulting. To come some 20 years later, I think what they are doing, and what he's trying to do is exploit black people to say either you all did not know what you were doing 20 years ago or..."

Carol Costello interrupted him here, "So you think Bernie Sanders is exploiting African-Americans?"

He responded, "What I'm saying that if, in fact, what they're trying to do is to cherry pick, you know, issues...and a statement that was, I think, clearly that Hillary Clinton has said that she wished she'd used another word. But it's clear, also in the `90's who was doing more...you know if you look at the African-American community, if you look at the wage gap – it was decreasing under Bill Clinton. If you look at the unemployment gap, it was decreasing under Bill Clinton. If you look at the wealth gap, more African-Americans were gaining...if you look at participation in American society as African-Americans in the Clinton administration at that time...more than anybody in history. So I don't hear him talking about that. What he's trying to do is to pick certain things out and to imply that African-Americans were taken advantage of by the Clinton administration. Clearly, that's not the case."

I don't want people who would say these things on my side, so it's almost a relief to hear them boast they won't vote for Clinton. The candidate for such racism and bigotry is Donald Trump. I'm sure they'll be much more comfortably among white-minded, I mean like-minded individuals in his camp.

And it's shameful that Bernie Sadners not only allows this in his name, but is not saying anything to stop it.

The continuous dismissal of Black voters is what irks a lot of people about Sanders. A base the Democratic party needs on every level.

To have a Democratic candidate for POTUS so casually dismiss a voting group that shows up for the party every time is infuriating.

Great, great tweets, Nerdy Wonka! I am so sick of Bernie Sanders’ disrespect of Black people. He thinks that winning in the predominantly white Red States like Kansas, Utah, Wyoming, Idaho, Nebraska, Alaska and Oklahoma, is more important than winning in the South where Black people are are the base of the Democratic Party! In 2008, President Obama won three Southern States: Florida, North Carolina and Virginia. In 2012, President Obama won both Florida and Virginia and narrowly lost North Carolina. Since LBJ, I can’t recall any Democratic Presidential Candidate who won Kansas, Utah, Wyoming, Idaho, Nebraska, Alaska and Oklahoma.

One of the biggest red flags against Sadners for me was his endorsement by Cornel West. After the negate and often hateful things that West said about Obama, anyone West supported was undoubtedly someone too far outside of the mainstream to be viable in a general election.

Here's How Black People Actually Fare in Bernie Sanders' Home State

What does this mean? Black Vermonters make up just 1.2% of the state's general population, but 10.7% of its incarcerated population. Meaning that, proportionally, there are nearly 10 times more black people locked up in Vermont's jails and prisons on a given day than there are walking its streets.

Few in Vermont seem able to explain how this happened. The black incarceration rate grew faster than any other in the state between 1993 and 2007, before it leveled out and stayed relatively constant. But shortly before its peak, the Sentencing Project reported that Vermont had the second-highest black-to-white incarceration rate in America — topped only by Iowa, another state with a small black population.

Shocking that he is so secure in his deliberately divisive, racist position. How is this okay with his supporters? Unless, of course they aren't very democratic, and I don't see much evidence that they are. They have adapted the same attitude as Bernie and seem quite willing to blow up the Democrat Party.

Many of these people bought the narrative that the Clinton's were racists when it was used against them in 08.

Obama needed the black vote. And I dont rememeber the name of the surrogate that did it, but it was a young black man, I think the son of one of the civil rights legends, who went on the media circuit making the claim that the Clinton's were racists and bad for the black community. A lot of the very liberal left jumped on it. But it wasn't true then, and it isn't true now. Most black voters that i've seen interviewed now, say that they didnt vote against Hillary in 08, they voted FOR Obama, after he proved he could get white voters. They still loved Hillary, but it was a once in forever moment in history.

I assume those in Bernie's campaign that are being dismissive about black voters, are among those who bought the lie. So they can't understand how anyone in the black community would vote for Hillary.
