Paraguayan Farmers to Occupy Land

Paraguayan Farmers to Occupy Land

Asuncion, Mar 25 (Prensa Latina) The National Farmer Federation (FNC) has announced an occupation of lands in view of the absence of a land reform.

The announcement comes after a mass protest Friday, involving thousands of farmers.

Teodolina Villalba, General Secretary of FNC, reviewed the 20 years of struggle by the organization, always ending in disappointment resulting from promises unfulfilled by traditional party-ruled governments.

That's why the farmer organization described as electoral lie the upcoming elections of April 21 now and called on members to annul their voting papers that day by writing on them the phrase Land Reform because according to Deputy General Secretary of FNC, Marcial Gomez, the current production model in Paraguay only benefits big business and agricultural exporters.

working toward the progress they have been denied these long, long years while suffering under hideous abuses by the Colorado Party's arch-asshole, violent, genocidal, US-supported, 35 years as President (with NO U.S. right-wing assholes shrieking "dictator" and "President for life" at the tops of their filthy lungs) Alfredo Stroessner, who inflicted hideous suffering upon the poor, and rewarded his friends, and even harbored Nazis, like the filthy, evil, despised Josef Mengele, the grotesque, sadistic butcher of Auschwitz where he conducted human experiments before sliming his trail to the loving arms of his good friend Stroessner.

The Colorado Party controlled Paraguay for over 60 years, ending when the people FINALLY got a chance to elect someone NOT from this genocidal, viscious, treacherous fascist party when the people elected Fernando Lugo, and we saw what the right would do to grab the power back. in order to destroy all chance of hope for the people.

That's NOT going to last forever, the evil scum of this world will NOT be able to dominate perpetually. The D.U. posters here are going to be able to see it, I am most certain. We will have something to celebrate again, in time.

leaders chosen by the people themselves? Why does our government think that supporting murderers is preferable to working with those the people choose? This is a very disturbing fact about our history, in Latin America and elsewhere. How long can we go on painting our selves as the 'good guys' when the facts show that the opposite is true.

And so few of our Reps have the courage to even ask questions about these horrible, inhumane policies. It's as if they all become numb as soon as they go to DC and either remain silent, or as we see now with Democrats and Chavez, publicly join Republicans in their criminal policies when it comes to democratically elected Latin American leaders.

I had hope that as soon as we got rid of the Bush War Criminals and elected Democrats, a whole new era of cooperation and support for the new democratically elected leaders in Latin America would begin. I remember Chavez thinking the same thing as he extended a 'hand of friendship' to Obama. What a disappointment it has been.
