Bolivia closes 2013 with record economic growth of 6.5 pct
Dec 27,2013

LA PAZ, Dec. 26 (Xinhua) -- Bolivia will conclude this year with a record economic growth of 6.5 percent, compared with the previous estimate of 5.5 percent, President Evo Morales announced Thursday.

The better-than-expected figure "is an indication of good government," said Morales, while signing the State Enterprise Law at the presidential palace.

Morales underscored the importance of increased state involvement in the economy, which reached 35 percent in 2013.

State investment since Morales took office in 2006 has hit 6.395 billion U.S. dollars, up from the average 581 million dollars between 1999 and 2005.
