CARACAS, April 25 (Xinhua) -- Venezuelan Defense Minister Carmen Melendez and his Argentine counterpart Augustin Rossi on Friday signed a pair of agreements on bilateral military cooperation.
"Our cooperation with Argentina in the defense area is always growing ... With our work we have signed agreements on technological, scientific, educational and military fields that we must fulfill in the next year," Melendez told the press after signing of the agreements.
Melendez also voiced Venezuelan government's support for Argentina's claim for Malvinas Islands, known to Britain as the Falkland Islands.
According to Melendez, Venezuela's Bolivarian Military University will introduce a curriculum dedicated to study the legacy of former president of Argentina Nestor Kirchner and former Venezuelan president Hugo Chavez.
Rossi also underscored the importance of bilateral agreements aimed at promoting the training of armed forces personnel.
