Students from Andres Bello Catholic Univeristy attacked by armed groups

National Guard and police stood by while armed groups shot at student protesters.

Caracas.- En los alrededores de la Universidad Católica Andrés Bello (UCAB), en Montalbán, funcionarios de la Guardia Nacional Bolivariana (GNB) y de la Policía Nacional Bolivariana (PNB) se enfrentaron con Ucabistas mientras realizaban una protesta y fueron replegados con bombas lacrimógenas. Además grupos civiles armados dispararon contra los manifestantes.

Carlos Vargas, representante del COGRES de la Universidad Católica Andrés Bello (Ucab), denunció que mientras se desarrollaba una manifestación en la avenida Teherán, por las detenciones, realizadas por de los cuerpos de seguridad, contra universitarios de las sedes de la Ucab Guayana y Montalban, un grupo identificado con el oficialismo comenzó a lanzar piedras y cohetones contra los manifestantes.

Añadió que los oficialistas se encontraban armados y lanzaron ráfagas contra los estudiantes. Dijo que en medio de la acción no hubo heridos.

"Los grupos de civiles oficialistas atacaron a los estudiantes mientras los policías se comportan como observadores", indicó la profesora de esa casa de estudios, Ligia Bolívar.

His followers have grown a level of resentment towards education and the idea of somebody actually improving upon themselves in life, and see going to school as something only people of privilege do. The few extremists that remain now have no problem showing their disdain against those who actually want to progress and educate themselves to make a better living. It's truly sickening.

funded by oil revenue was the ideal I suppose. Now its on to plan B, "defense" of the revolution at any cost.
