Considering all the excitement about Telesur English, its odd we haven't seen any posts. Here is the Telesur take for the meeting today. Although they say its next Friday August 7. Friday is the 8th actually and the meeting is today August 1 so they may consider getting some proof readers and editors.

Venezuelan foreign minister Elias Jaua confirmed that Venezuelan president Nicolas Maduro will meet with his Colombian counterpart, Juan Manuel Santos, in Cartagena de Indias next Friday August 7.

Venezuelan and Colombian presidents Nicolas Maduro and Juan Manuel Santos will meet this Friday to discuss measures to combat the smuggling of goods. Venezuelan foreign minister Elias Jaua confirmed the meeting at a press conference in Caracas.

"The meeting that President Nicolas Maduro has requested of President Santos is to address the issue of smuggling, they are very aware of the damage that is being done to the Venezuelan economy and also to the Colombian economy due to contraband," Jaua expressed. Approximately 40 percent of all food produced or imported to Venezuela is smuggled to Colombia contributing to shortages and scarcity of goods across the country.
