Reggae pioneer hacked to death in southern Colombia

A Colombian reggae pioneer was murdered with a machete during a robbery attempt in southern Colombia, local media reported on Wednesday.

Daladier Arismendi, 39, was housekeeping for an Italian friend in a Colombia’s southern city of San Agustin, when the robbery took place on Sunday, according to Colombia’s La Nacion newspaper.

The robbers stole the renowned musician’s motorbike and computer and attacked him with a machete. He was killed instantly by a blow to the back of the head.

“We know they stole a motorcycle and a computer. We also know that San Agustin, at present, suffers from crime. All we know is that it was a very violent crime. We have no idea if Daladier decided to react or defend himself,” band member Javier Fonseca told local media on Wednesday.
