Illegal mining is destroying Canaima National Park (Spanish)

Canaima is home to indigenous communities as well as Angel Falls. The indigenous leaders make complaints to the government but they don't do anything. Gilberto Abati, indigenous leader, said that when there is a denouncement of illegal mining the government simply informs the owners of the machines who is making the complaint.

A company deforested a river island right in front of Angel Falls recently. (wtf!)
