Mexican President Tells Nation to 'Move On' from 43 Students
Published 28 January 2015
We have to move forward with greater optimism, said President Peña Nieto, backing the attorney generals conclusion that the 43 students are dead.
Mexican President Enrique Peña Nieto asked the nation not to get caught up in the enforced disappearances of the 43 Ayotzinapa students from the southern Mexican state of Guerrero a case that has enraged the country for over four months with major protests occurring regularly marked by cries of government cover-ups, impunity and corruption.
We have to assume the road, to continue walking, to ensure that Mexico has a better future, said the president Tuesday about the controversial case.
The president's speech comes amid a new rift between the families of the 43 missing students and Attorney General Jesus Murillo Karam, who on Tuesday again said the students had been handed to a local drug gang, killed, burned, and thrown into the river. Murillo Karam insisted the investigation into the matter is closed.
The attorney general also suggested that there was scientific proof that this is what happened and in that order. However, he and his office have failed to provide conclusive evidence. In fact, the only remains that were identified by the Austrian forensic scientists investigating the case belong to one student, Alexander Mora, whose remains have not yet been handed over to the family.

You may recall, too, the fact ALL corporate media in every story whooped it up mentioning what a "telegenic" wonderful candidate he was, oh, so "telegenic."

(5,902 posts)whining that people "need to get over" police killing unarmed black folks (even children).
Except that Peña Nieto is these people's president - which makes it that much more inexcusable.
Sinvergüenza!
