US Actions Aim At Possible Military Intervention In Venezuela - Minister
CARACAS, March 13 (BERNAMA-NNN-AVN) -- Venezuelan Foreign Minister, Delcy Rodriguez, warned Wednesday that the recent interventionist actions of the United States government against Venezuela are part of a plan that includes a possible military intervention, as well as financial and commercial embargo against the country.
"They have in view an economic blockade, and the whole country should know it. Do not buy the story that is just about some sanctions for a group of Venezuelans, no, all Venezuelans will be affected by this law and this should call the union and national reflection. What happened is extremely serious as never seen in the history of our country," Rodriguez said in an interview with Venevision TV station.
On Monday, March 9, President Barack Obama signed a bill passed by the US Senate, which declares Venezuela as an "unusual and extraordinary threat" to national security and foreign policy of the United States.
In this regard, Rodriguez said that these actions are the most serious attack that Venezuela has received from the United States, and explained that what began as a sanction to seven top officials, is actually a plan that includes 30 programs of sanctions, freezing assets, seizure of assets, resources, and military intervention.
