U.S. authorities seize $180 million Colombian cocaine shipment

BOGOTA Sat Mar 21, 2015 3:25pm EDT

(Reuters) - U.S. authorities confiscated a $180 million shipment of cocaine from Colombian drug traffickers aboard a boat on the Pacific Ocean bound for the United States, the Colombian attorney general's office said on Saturday.

The Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) found 5.28 tonnes of the drug aboard the vessel, captured in international waters off Central America, said Alexandra Ladino, director of the attorney general's specialized police force, which cooperated with the DEA on the operation.

The Panamanian-flagged boat had earlier departed the Colombian port city of Buenaventura, Ladino said. The drugs belonged to a Colombian trafficking group, which she said would not be named for fear of compromising further investigations.

McCocaine's double-chin looked real sweaty for a few days after reports of the Ping May and its $7 million cargo emerged. Luckily for him, the media rolled over on this one - as it almost always does on anything having to do with cocaine republics in which certain people are making far too much money to let it stop.

Clearly, lining things up so they end up paying workers next to nothing, with no benefits, no protections, not paying taxes, not getting
their operations examined, etc., etc., etc. is breaking all kinds of moral laws. Wow.

Had no idea Mitch was a gold-digger! Bless his shriveled-up heart.

It's even "funnier" now, after learning the lengths to which her family goes to avoid doing right for their employees, remembering how happy G. W. Bush was to make Elaine Chow his Secretary of Labor. One of the most repulsive moves probably ever made.

Then, to learn Mitch is really down on marijuana, wants to increase the penalties for possession.

Love this article. It really should be shared with many others. People SHOULD know!

He knows too many people are making way too much off this, such that we're very unlikely to ever hear about these things in the mainstream media (or about corruption in general, which only makes the news when it's egregious or when the perpetrators went about it too ham-handedly). Why, even msnbc wouldn't touch the Ping May story - and this was just a couple of weeks before the elections (!).

That double chin may get a little sweaty from time to time, but Mitch knows our "free press" won't call him out (kudos to The Nation for being the exception to the rule).

when he was murdered by Pinochet, after learning the US military were involved in that coup.

The Nation has a very respected history, so far, knock on wood. Let's hope the right-wing controlled doesn't threaten them or coerce them into silence.

It really is a sin if Mitch never gets called on any of his rottenness in a big, loud way.

The entire government needs to be cleansed from top to bottom. What are the chances.
