Translation:
In Venezuela, one Chavista candidate for parliamentary election caused controversy in social networks in the country.
It is Rona del Valle Gomez, pre-candidate of the United Socialist Party of Venezuela (PSUV), which calls for an intervention in the program 'La Hojilla' state television channel VTV, suggesting that the best solution to address the shortage crisis of drugs in Venezuela is going "back to the roots" and sowing "leaves of acetaminophen."
Acetaminophen is a synthetic drug produced in pharmaceutical laboratories, and therefore it is impossible to sow
Just so you know, there is still no official word yet on when the parliamentary elections will take place. Considering that the Central Electoral Council is controlled by the PSUV (though they'll happily deny it at every turn,) the likely scenario is that the party is very much afraid of having them at all with the current popularity levels they enjoy right now (last I checked, Maduro was at less than 25% of popularity according to most polls,) and well, their mistreatment of political opposition prisoners is only just making things worse for them. Last May 30, Leopoldo Lopez called for Venezuelans to rally in support of the political prisoners, and the turnout was bigger than anything that Maduro ever called for, including back when he called for support against Obama's executive order that considered Venezuela a potential threat, but even that cause fell through VERY quickly after the Americas Summit in Panama where Maduro came out as the biggest loser. They know they are in deep shit, and are trying to find some way to win back some popularity before going into the elections, which they will keep postponing until they can't anymore. But I gotta say, this girl Rona is not really doing them any favors. She's just another example of the stupidity that chavistas tend to display.

(17,301 posts)Capitalists don't just quietly disappear when dethroned. They do what they always do. They use their money, tools and power to destroy the possibility of an alternative economic system.
Hundreds of years of capitalism can not be turned around in a few decades. The remaining capitalist, which is practically the rest of the world, will come down on socialist with every bit of stolen wealth they can grab.

(2,035 posts)You know, using news sources and information provided by people who actually live and work there, my family and friends included. If you speak Spanish, I recommend you check out the Chavista site Aporrea.org, each day you can see how increasingly more frustrated those folks are becoming with the Maduro administration, to the point that some of those bloggers (namely one called Nicmer Evans) decided to break off from the PSUV party and created Marea Socialista, since they believe the PSUV has deviated from Chavez's vision and became corrupt.
