After a 10-year absence, direct service between Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport and Caracas, Venezuela, resumed Friday courtesy of a new flight from Dynamic International Airways..
The Fort Lauderdale airport had not had regularly scheduled service to the Venezuelan capital since 2005, when American Airlines ended its service on that route, officials said.
During Friday's inaugural festivities, Dynamic CEO Paul Kraus said reconnecting the two destinations was a "monumental moment" for the company.
"This is the beginning of a journey we'd like to add to," he said. "And we're going to continue to increase this service."
