Peru's 95 Per Cent Of Urban Population To Gain Access To Drinking Water By 2016

LIMA, July 29 (BERNAMA- NNN-ANDINA) -- Peruvian President Ollanta Humala has announced that 95% of urban population will have access to drinking water, while such service will have reached 75% of the rural sector by the end of his government.

As he addressed the nation, he said his administration has managed to provide at least two out of three homes with drinking water services.

"By the end of my government, 95% of the urban population and 75% of the rural population will have access to drinking water," the Head of State announced at the Congress of the Republic.

The Peruvian leader revealed that S/.7.34 billion (about US$2.3 billion) was invested in the water and sanitation sector to fund 1,707 projects at the national level.

"We have brought water and sanitation to more than 7,500,000 Peruvians, thanks to these investments," he added.

if you took the money spent in America alone on one Christmas shopping season , the entire world could have access to clean water, and sanitation in places where it doesn't exist yet but I do not have a link to the equation

One halloween retail is about 7.4 billion about what it took for Peru in the article to bring these results

One American Christmas retail is up to 465 billion
