Colombia’s ombudsman calls for urgent talks with Venezuela over border violence

http://colombiareports.com/colombias-ombudsman-calls-for-urgent-talks-with-venezuela-over-border-violence/

Colombia’s ombudsman on Wednesday called for urgent talks with Venezuela following a day of violent protests on the border and allegation of Colombians’ harassment by Venezuela’s National Guard.

According to Ombudsman Jorge Armando Otalora, Colombians that live close to the border or cross it, face “constant abuse by the Venezuelan Guard.”

The ombudsman spoke out after a day of violence between Venezuelan guardsmen and Colombian civilians that left one Colombian dead and four injured.

Additionally, the ombudsman said that Venezuelan military officials regularly violate Colombia’s sovereignty by crossing the border and harassing locals.

I'd just once like to see comments from one of the "I HEART HUGO" fan club who had even ever been in Venezuela, much less have any background that would give them some insight into the reality of what is going on (and, by background, I don't mean cutting and pasting pro-Chavez pap from questionable sources). I'd love to hear their explanation for how Chavez took a country awash in oil money and managed to get it to almost failed nation status in such a short time, without trying to rely on the facile (and totally incorrect) excuse that Chavez/Maduro have been undercut by the 'oligarchs'.
