Colombia''s Guerrilla Reiterate Call to Eliminate Paramilitarism

Havana, Jul 30 (Prensa Latina) The delegation of the Revolutionary Armed Forces of Colombia-People''s Army (FARC-EP) continues today at the peace negotiations table with the government, demanding the end to paramilitarism.

In statement released here yesterday, the guerrilla called the Colombian society to mobilize to demand the end of the collusion between the State and that scourge. For that, it is urgent to carry out clarification measures and removal of such phenomenon, an affair that is the main issue on the agenda of the peace talks in Havana, the insurgency said.

The guerrilla group also expressed solidarity with the victims of massacres occurred in 2002 in Medellin, in the framework of Orion Operation. In the statement, they said that the Orion Operation was an infamy that meant the perpetration of serious crimes against humanity by the State's forces.

The FARC-EP recalled how "the youth of a popular neighborhood (Comuna 13 of Medellin) became into the internal enemy to eliminate by a State taken in those days by paramilitarism."
