If the US knows how to start cancer, it must know how to stop it -the technology can't work only one way

Beyond those who follow every word of the Chavez personality cult, little serious coverage has been given to the recent hypothesis that the US has developed technology to spread cancer to its enemies, which explains to the mind of the cult why so many Latin American leaders have the disease. Let's think it out. If the US knows how to start cancer, it must know how to stop it -the technology can't work only one way. So Americans who have died of cancer were obviously enemies of the state, while many have been saved and are sworn to secrecy never to tell why they were allowed to live. To cover up this big lie, the US spends tons of money annually on fighting cancer and is recognized worldwide for that. As collateral damage, millions of people are allowed to die every year from cancer to maintain the secrecy of the cancer weapon.

The hypothesis is impeccably logical so far, you might be thinking, but it fails the common sense test about where the weapon is being applied. The leaders of Brazil and Argentina that recently have cancer are not US enemies. Meanwhile, the weapon was never used against Fidel Castro, who the US has been trying to kill for half a century, failing with cigars that blow up and Mafia hit-men that couldn't shoot straight. If the US could have killed Castro with cancer a long time ago, some general at the Pentagon is in big trouble. And then there are the real enemies of the US, in Iraq, Afghanistan, Iran, and Libya (not to mention the Cold War), where the US has spent a gazillion dollars and lost thousands of soldiers, when those enemies could have been eliminated a lot cheaper and easier with the cancer weapon. From a cost-benefit analysis, therefore, the hypothesis of the cancer weapon is disproved.

But here's why the Chavez personality cult comes up with a hypothetical cancer weapon. The cult believes that the all-powerful US can do anything: it can change regimes at a whim; it can assassinate anyone anywhere anytime; and it can manipulate money, power, the weather, and maybe even the universe. The cult is awed by US technology, desperately desires to take it away, and give its enemies cancer. This is called envy.
