Basic Goods 'Suspiciously' Begin to Appear in Venezuela Stores

Basic Goods 'Suspiciously' Begin to Appear in Venezuela Stores
Published 14 December 2015

People on social media are denouncing the right-wing opposition for being behind a U.S.-backed economic war on Venezuela.

In 1970, U.S. President Richard Nixon ordered the CIA to make the “Chilean economy scream,” a conspiracy to overthrow the first democratically elected socialist government of Latin America that was accompanied by disappearing basic products from the shelves of stores across the country.

The same plan was implemented against Venezuela. And the fact that after the Dec. 6 victory of the right-wing opposition, according to many social media users in Venezuela, basic products are beginning to appear in stores throughout the South American nation, suggests that the right-wing opposition, backed by the U.S., implemented the same plan. And as it happened in Chile after the CIA-backed coup and murder of socialist President Salvador Allende Sep. 11, 1973, basic products have begun to appear on the shelves of stores in Venezuela.

Through social media, people in Venezuela have begun to denounce the suspicious reappearance of some staple goods in some markets following the Dec. 6 elections.

. . .

The social media users have indicated that the sudden reappearance of these goods and the fact that they have expired dates on them expose that there have been no issues with production, but rather with distribution, which many right-wing business people control.

1. A blast from the past-an excerpt from Isabel Allende's House of Spirits. She knows how THEY think

I posted this in my journal in DU 2-an excerpt from House of Spirits. I want it in my DU3 journal so here goes.
I’ve never felt like I had anything of worth posting in my DU journal, but current events and recent opinions both in print and blogs made be remember the words of a novel.

Salvador Allende of Chile, the legitimately elected president of that country was deposed and killed by a US backed coup lead by Pinochet. Allende’s cousin, Isabel Allende, is a novelist living in California. Her first novel is The House of Spirits. I believe this is a fictionalization of the coup that destroyed her family, home and country, and she has wisdom for us.

This first quote is of Miguel the revolutionary lover of Alba the granddaughter of conservative Senator Trueba. Alba is so excited because the left won the election and their man is to be president--
”We’ve won, but now we’ll have to defend our victory,” Miguel to Alba.

Meanwhile at the headquarters of the Conservative Senator Trueba:
”It’s one thing to win an election and quite another to be President,” Senator Trueba said mysteriously to his weary co-religionists.

The shock of losing the election did paralyze the Conservatives for long. Used to working in secret even while they had long held power they mapped out their plans and so:
Following the election the senator
headed to a country house on the outskirts of the city, where a secret lunch was held. There he met with other politicians, a group of military men, and gringos sent by their intelligence service to map a strategy for bringing down the new government: economic destabilization, as they called their sabotage.

Back to the victors:
While the people were celebrating their victory, letting their hair and beards grow, addressing each other as ‘compãnero,’ rescuing forgotten folklore and native crafts, and exercising their new power in lengthy meetings where everyone spoke at once and never agreed on anything, the right was carrying out a series o strategic actions designed to tear the economy to shreds and discredit the government. The controlled the influential mass media and possessed nearly limitless financial resources, as well as the support of the gringos, who had allocated secret funds for the program of sabotage. Within a few months the results could be seen. For the first time in their lives, people had enough money to cover their basic needs and to buy a few things they always wanted, but now they were unable to do so because the stores were nearly empty.

This story ends as it did in Chile. The economic destabilization did not bring down the government and so the Conservatives let the military do their thing. One problem is the military refused to let the Conservatives rule again. The armed forces suppressed the right as well as the left.

I’m not saying that this is where our country is headed but we need to be vigilant. I’ve been reading posts of people discontented with our present government. Suck it up! To quote the Rolling Stones- “You can’t always get what you want but if you try with the help of your friends you get what you need.” (or something like that).

We are in danger of growing hair and beards and never agreeing on anything while the enemy cooks up their plans to destroy us.

as we all know. They know how to maneuver against the people, have practiced it so many times already. It's clear to anyone who has any grasp of history that this is the tool they use to get what they want, among so many others.

"Make the economy scream."

And so they do. And the economy screams. Then they get control, after terrorizing the people into submission who try to prevent it. How long has this REALLY been going on? Probably far, far longer than people realize. Generations die and take with them their knowledge. So much gets lost, leaving empty new replacements to take over.

For the time being, we have means of getting the information around so much faster to other people. Even though the same murderous parasites are jamming our communication meeting places with dirty interference who come to engage people in trying to defend themselves so the information gets lost instead of shared.

Very crude, stupid tactics, but it drives so many good, brilliant people who hope to share knowledge with those who want it away. It seems to work for the monsters, but they don't have to get the last word. They make themselves conspicuous to those who take the time to think, and watch their behaviors, gauge their motivations.

They mean to destroy what the people need. #### them.

Until they find a way to close the internetS, we still have this tool. When we lose it, somehow human beings will find another way, or more and more ways, whatever it takes.

Thanks for posting this powerful excerpt from someone who knows whereof she speaks.

The government's ability to terrorize the civilian population beyond understanding is growing by leaps and bounds. As we've read in the last decade or more, their storehouse of terror toys is astonishing by now.

I don't think it's meant for humanity to be owned and controlled. Somehow it's going to have to end.

And much of the rest they smuggle to Colombia and elsewhere - quite possibly with covert U.S. tactical assistance and financing.

We can't be certain of that, of course; but neither can those who deny that there is at least some connivance involved - especially since that's exactly what happened in Chile during Allende's shortage-stricken last year in office.

...you can't have price controls and 100%+ inflation....selling under cost is a terrible business model.

Of course they would smuggle goods across the border to sell above cost, just to stay in business.

And what the US did during the Cold War is of zero relevance now.

"quite possibly with covert U.S. tactical assistance and financing."....he/she said with zero proof.
