President of Ecuador Rafael Correa praised the Colombian government and the Revolutionary Armed Army of Colombia (FARC-EP) for the historic agreement reached in Havana Tuesday.
The agreement reached between the Colombian government and the Revolutionary Armed Army of Colombia (FARC-EP) is the best news in recent decades for all of Latin America, Ecuadorian President Rafael Correa said during a bilateral meeting with his Colombian counterpart Juan Manuel Santos, Tuesday.
While the news will mostly benefit Colombians, it will also benefit Ecuador, Correa said.
We have a very serious problem at the border, a border known as a 'hot border' where it needs 10 times more security. The two countries share a border of 586 kilometers.
Tuesdays historic agreement reached in Havana is the fourth major agreement since 2012 and focuses on the issue of victims of the armed conflict.
