Horrific moment matador is gored in the heart during bullfight in Mexico ... and he SURVIVES

A matador has been seriously injured by a bull after he was gored in the heart during a bullfight in Mexico

One of the bull's sharp horns stabbed deep into the bullfighter's left armpit, causing serious injuries to his chest, lungs and heart.

Video footage shows Mexican matador Mauricio Martínez Kingston lying heavily bleeding on the ground before he was rushed to hospital.

The shocking moment happened during the fifth bull of the night at the 2015-2016 bullfighting season in the Monumental Plaza Mexico.

The large bull was wearing a 'banderilla', a pairs of sharp sticks which hang from the shoulder blade's of the bull and cut into the angry animal.

I'm sorry... wearing? I do not think that is theproper verb to describe having barbed shanks stabbed into your shoulders.

"Running of the bulls" is also known as "Running of the assholes".

They stab a bull (in a bullring) multiple times with swords before they engage him in the ring.

In the running, they're let loose down a corridor with idiots that try to survive them.

I get the machismo but mainly I see stupido.

and it takes so many of them to harm the innocent animal enough before, as you said, they can have an easier time injuring it to death the slow way.

Makes them look like tiny, stupid, treacherous, insane criminals.

"Running of the assholes" sounds perfect.
