For the second time, Peruvians mobilized against the executive order meant to open the state-run water company to private capital.
Over 2,000 people took to the streets in Peru's capital Lima Monday to protest against the government's plan to privatize public water services.
The protest was organized by small neighborhoods and the public water workers union Sedapal.
According to an opinion article by El Comercio de Peru, millions of people across the country lack basic water and sewer systems, putting them in a highly vulnerable sector suffering endemic health issues.
People marched from the south of Lima to the facilities of ProInversion, the governmental agency in charge of privatizations.
