CHARLESTON U.S. Rep. Mark Sanford will be among a handful of Republicans traveling to Cuba next week with a delegation led by President Barack Obama.
The former governor who represents the 1st Congressional District has worked in the past to end the travel ban between the United States and Cuba. Sanford tells The Post and Courier of Charleston (http://bit.ly/1TNG9Sq ) he's long believed Americans should have the right to travel to Cuba.
He's traveled to Cuba twice on trips organized by private organizations and nonprofits. This will be his first since the general ban on travel to Cuba was lifted.
Most of those on the trip will be Democrats.
