Colombia seeks to defuse political tension in Venezuela before it explodes

http://colombiareports.com/colombia-seeks-defuse-political-tension-venezuela-explodes/

Colombia is seeking to mediate dialogue between Venezuela’s government and opposition as their political stand-off becomes increasingly tense, according to President Juan Manuel Santos.

---------------

An energy crisis has limited civil servants to a two-day week to save electricity, inflation is expected to hit 500% and President Nicolas Maduro has deployed the army to control an increasingly unruly populace and fierce political opposition.

The drop in global oil prices hit the Venezuelan economy especially hard, and the left-wing government can no longer guarantee food, basic good and energy to its citizens.

Unemployment has hit 17% and people are dying amid shortages and violent repression.

1. Santos is probably the last person Maduro will listen to. I think he's either

decided that he's going to go down with the ship or (more likely) still can't even buy a clue as to how bad the situation has gotten. If the latter is true, Maduro may be in for a very unpleasant surprise.

Those are always the most dangerous. Perhaps the spirit of the Great Leader in the form of a bird will speak to him again.

2. Colombia'd better watch its own back. Your hero, tiny monster Uribe, has been after Santos

since the moment he realized Santos didn't intend to continue his filthy fascist rule. He's been trying to overthrow Santos all these years.

Even fascist trolls have slavishly posted photos of Santos during a speech outdoors when some dirty photo journalists created a photo showing that Santos "wet his pants" during a speech.

Primitive, underhanded, dirty trolls.

starvation and collapse. I believe Colombia provides the most food to Venezuela after the US. So good on them for helping out. I wonder why Cuba and Bolivia and ALBA are not stepping up to bail Venezuela out

whatever 'source' you use. Santos recently had prostate surgery, which is why he actually did 'wet his pants' during a speech. But don't let that dampen your poutrage.
