Bolivia Condemns OAS Secretary Commitment with the Right-wing

La Paz, Nov 16 (Prensa Latina) The president of the Chamber of Deputies of Bolivia, Gabriela Montaño, denounced the political commitment of the Secretary General of the Organization of American States (OAS), Luis Almagro, with the continental right.

In statements released today, Montaño condemned Almagro's decision to send OAS observers to protect opposition leader Samuel Doria Medina, accused of corruption that affects the state and the Bolivian people. We are talking about more than 21 million dollars. This is not about political persecution, but about corruption prosecution, noted the legislator.

Montaño warned that Almagro does not act in cases of parliamentary coups like in Brazil, but does intend to send observers to protect the businessman and leader of the right-wing National Unity.

According to the parliamentarian, the Secretary General of the OAS violates the mechanisms of that organization in making that decision without first consulting the Member States.
