3rd day of looting in Venezuelan cities. Maduro looks the other way

Crime is camouflaged in discontent with hunger to cause looting in Ciudad Guayana
Jan 10, 2018 6:50 am

The looting continued this week in the municipality of Caroní, this time in three popular (poor) sectors of Puerto Ordaz: The Amazon, Core 8 and Villa Bahía. The most affected was the first, where they ransacked the home of the owner of one of the looted warehouses. Tenants agree that looting is the product of hunger, but also of crime: both scourges cultivated by the regime after years of failure in its economic and social management. Anarchy persists, published Correo del Caroní .

Another night of anarchy was lived in Ciudad Guayana on Monday, January 8. After the wave of looting in San Felix on Sunday, the rebullicio of citizens, eager to break into business, moved to the other side of the municipality, in three popular sectors of the parish Unare, in Puerto Ordaz.

In the Amazon, Core 8 and Villa Bahía sacked a total of eight food retailers, mostly. Among the neighbors of the zones, a single opinion coincides with the social attack: "Malandros* from the neighborhood take advantage of the crisis and encourage looting". This was summed up by an inhabitant of Villa Bahía, who preferred not to be identified.

*Malandros... "bad guys", aka "colectivos" are the Chavista equivalent of Hitlers brownshirts. Paid red-shirted thugs who ride around on motorcycles shaking down merchants and robbing citizens in broad daylight, while the GNB (Bolivarian National Guard) look the other way... at least when they weren't looting the stores themselves.
