The survey has, in addition, another shocking fact: 40% of the interviewees want to leave the country. This is more pronounced among the younger sectors (51%) and in the upper middle classes compared to the popular ones (55% -33%). In addition, the total figure is 80% higher than that registered at the end of 2015 (25%) and higher than that registered at the beginning of this year (30%).

They will not return

Half of the respondents indicate that their loved ones would return to Venezuela "if things change"; but 29% indicate that "they do not return". 12% of respondents are certain that their family members will return to the country.

The economic reasons deprive in the decision to leave. For 63% of the respondents (among those who indicated that they have thought of leaving the country) the economic situation is the main reason, regardless of age; for the more adults, 45 or older, the political situation has a lot of weight (35% against 29% of the general public); 7% say they would go to "seize opportunities", but this number is higher among the youngest (12%).
