Cost of food basket (Venezuela) increased over 80% in a month

Basic Family Basket reached 25 million bolivares

The price of the Basic Family Basket -CBF- of December 2017 is Bs. 25,123,437.24. Increased 11,240,071.85 Bolivars (63.3 minimum wages), 81.0% compared to November 2017. 837,447.90 Bolivars per day were needed to cover its cost, almost five minimum wages each day.

The annualized variation for the period December 2017 / December 2016 is 3,278.6%, Bs. 24,379,840.36, 137.3 minimum wages (Bs. 177,507.43).

All items went up in price

The monthly variation of the Basic Family Basket is due to the increase in the price of the seven groups that make it up.

Food rose 9,311,203.80 bolivars, from 7,190,158.98 to 16,501,362.78 bolivars, 129.5%.
