Diosdado says that Maduro will make "irreversible" the revolution after presidential electionApr 12, 2018 5:41 pm
The Chavez leader Diosdado Cabello said today that the president of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro, will make "irreversible" the Bolivarian revolution that he leads, after the presidential elections of May 20 in which he will seek re-election and in which the bulk of the opposition will not participate.
"Once Nicolás wins the elections again (there will be) a six-year horizon (...) that will allow the decision making that a government that is ending can not do for political reasons, political logic or political elementary", Cabello said during a proselytizing act in Monagas state (east).
The official potentate, considered the number two of the Government, explained that Maduro does not take some decisions at present, necessary to face the economic crisis that the country suffers, because his Administration is near the end.
"But if I have a six-year horizon, I make the decisions I have to make to make the Bolivarian revolution a totally and absolutely irreversible event," he said.
Cabello said that to achieve this goal it is necessary that supporters of Maduro go to the polls in May, when the oil country will hold presidential elections that are considered already "fraudulent" by local opposition and much of the international community.
"The political conditions have not been easy and you know it (...) there is a war against this country, against this country," added the chavista in reference to the economic sanctions that several governments have imposed on him, Maduro and other high Government officials.

Well, there you have it! Once the formalities of this election are over, there will no longer be a need for such silly things in the future, for the Chavistas will have a "mandate" to do whatever they want! (Not that they pay attention to the Constitution now)

(16,423 posts)2. IIRC Maduro said a year ago that he won't step down, even if he loses.
So, that statement in the OP is no surprise.
