Border patrol agents have uncovered a tunnel leading from the kitchen of an old KFC restaurant to a trap door in a bedroom in Mexico. Officials believe the tunnel between San Luis, in Arizona, and San Luis Río Colorado, in Sonora, was used for smuggling drugs.
Police say they were tipped off in April about the existence of a tunnel leading to the abandoned restaurant. They began monitoring its owner, Ivan López, and stopped him in his vehicle earlier this month. Officers found 160kg of hard drugs worth more than $1m.

(33,345 posts)If you look at an aerial view, I think the old QFC is on N. San Luis Plaza Dr., north of the intersection with Urtuzuastegui St. (easy for you to say), in the parking lot of a grocery, maybe. There are no labels on the building, no cars outside it. It's still in a fairly open location, though.
That means they dug beneath a canal, or around it, to get over to Avenida Cap Carlos G Galles.
The Wall won't stop this.
