Central Government ordered that State educators and janitors earn minimum wage
September 15, 2018
Late in the afternoon of last Friday, the 14th of this month, after many calls and pressure from the regional government to the Ministry of Education and the National Budget Office -ONAPRE-, this last agency proceeded to send the resources for the payment of the fortnight to the educators and janitors attached to the Governorate of Nueva Esparta.
The information was provided by the director of Education of the regional executive, Professor Celis Rodríguez, who clarified at the outset that the resources and guidelines sent by the Ocepre only correspond to the payment of the amount established for the minimum wage, that is, 1,800 sovereign bolivars, as measured of which no explanation is known.
The state official said that this means that the aforementioned resources only allow an equal linear payment for all categories, ie teachers and active bedeles , hired, retired and pensioners, who will receive the same amount of money according to the payment conditions imposed. by the national government in correspondence with the last economic announcements made by the president of the Republic.
Professor Rodriguez said that the payment of the fortnight will be effective in the course of the next week, once the paperwork is completed.

Actually, not EVERY state employee makes the minimum. Members of the military (FANB) get about 10X (currently) what a teacher does, and their pay is indexed to hyperinflation. PLUS the FANB controls PdVSA (the state oil company) plus food and medicine distribution. In other words, Maduro pays them a pretty penny to stay very loyal to Chavismo!
Welcome to Cuba, comrades!
