Nicolás Maduro, president of Venezuela, announced on Monday the increase in the country's tax collection at "astronomical" levels.
"We were reviewing the fiscal balance, we have to improve the tax collection of the country and strengthen it, it is a vital line for the Economic Recovery Program," the president said.
Maduro indicated that the collection of the Venezuelan Institute of Social Security (IVSS) should be improved. "You have to pay the debt of the State and have the private with Social Security and charge monthly to the hair," he said.
"We have to generate wealth to maintain the standards that the revolution has maintained despite the economic war," he said.

(7,447 posts)but you'd think at least one senior military leader would do it at this point.
I get that they are being paid off not to, but at some point, it's just too much.
They are approaching North Korea levels of poverty and gov corruption/mismanagement.

(2,412 posts)After the coup attempt of 2002, he got rid of every single General and 95% of the officers of the FANB. He then replaced them with lackeys from the PSUV, his political party. They were then "trained" in Cuba by Chavez own puppet masters, the Castros.
Also the entire infrastructure of the country is infiltrated by Cuba's G2. You don't know who to trust. Over 100 officers are currently either dead or in the Helicoide prison when they were ratted out earlier this year.
