More blame for collapsing Venezuelan infrastructure

Venezuelan PDVSA says it controls fire at pumping station of 300,000 bpd; sabotage report

Translated from Spanish

CARACAS (Reuters) - Venezuela's state oil company Petróleos de Venezuela (PDVSA) said on Tuesday it managed to contain a fire in a pump room in a station in the east of the country, in an incident that it attributed to sabotage by opponents to President Nicolás Maduro.

The company said the loss affected Ero Station, which has an installed capacity of 300,000 barrels per day of crude oil coming from the production of joint ventures in the Orinoco Oil Belt.

The president of the firm, Manuel Quevedo, attributed the act to "an act of sabotage perpetrated by the opposition right," according to a company statement.

The official denounced that "the terrorist act to the detriment of the Venezuelan oil industry occurred hours after (US President) Donald Trump, with his warlike speech, incited violence and war," he added.

PDVSA said there were no injuries due to the incident.

Venezuela is mired in a political crisis after Maduro was declared a "usurper" of the post by Congress, whose head was sworn in as president in charge, which has been backed by the United States and other countries.

Maduro claims that his opponents seek to overthrow him with the support of Washington.

Lets see... every time something fails, its either CIA financed saboteurs, the sun being too close to Venezuela, lusty iguanas or the Colombia/EU/Illuminati/Portuguese pig farmers/Aruba. GOD FORBID IT BE THAT THERE HASN'T BEEN THE MOST RUDIMENTARY OF MAINTENANCE OF THE INFRASTRUCTURE OVER THE LAST 20 YEARS.

Naturally, the Chavistas will have "proof"... typically a invoice with Duque's signature on it and the amount paid to the saboteurs.
