Havana, (Prensa Latina) The excellent technical results and contributions of Cuban women surgeons, and the need to promote women's incorporation into the specialty, were highlighted this Wednesday by Luis Ruso, president of the Latin American Federation of Surgery (FELAC), speaking in the Cuban capital.
During the opening of the 14th Cuban Surgery Congress, Ruso pointed out that women surgeons are daily transforming the techniques used in their profession.

On this first day, the results of esophagogastric replacement surgeries in different Cuban territories, thyroid surgery and acute abdomen surgery in the elderly were presented.
For her part, Ileana Morales, director of Science and Technology at the Cuban Public Health Ministry, pointed out that the entity is working on a development plan through 2030, which includes expanding technological transfers, in a specialty with great relevance in the robotic medicine program approved by the Cuban government.
