"Pink cocaine" -- a synthetic form of cocaine first made in Holland, is now being made in Colombia, local media reported on Wednesday.
According to Colombias La W radio, the drug it is not yet recognized as a heavily trafficked drug yet there is evidence to suggest that it is being produced in Colombia.
Officially known as H2CB, "pink cocaine" is a dream for narcotics smugglers as it is much easier to conceal, as it is usually held in prescription drug capsules. The drug can also reportedly dilute discreetly into liquids.
Users can be expected to pay around $50,000 for one kilogram [about two pounds] which is more than the going rate for standard cocaine, making this drug increasingly attractive to traffickers.
