But, hey... if they wanna ally themselves with nutcases like Jeffereys, Dworkin, Solanis, et al, more power to 'em. Fringe shit like that very rarely even approaches going mainstream.

Using the words "Expecto Patronum"

...which I guess means "expect my father".

Weird.

"Expecto" is a version of "exspecto" which is "I expect"
"Patronum" is form of "patronus" which is "protector"

True, protector may be the meaning, but the patr- prefix implies a male or male derived or applicable concept, of which "protector" may be considered, in times when Latin was an active language, assumed to be a male role.

Nonetheless, I believe the choice of this particular scene may not be simply for the gape-mouthed yell visual, but to illustrate another patr- word... you know... patriarchy.

Oooh. Dash clever of them.

With their incoherent bargle and their transphobia and increasingly bizarre attacks on things like lesbians who use dildos....

It's 5 people in a rubber room, All talking to each other IMHO. If that.

These people honestly think their word salad "criticism" is going to influence the way the vast majority of humans on planet Earth enjoy fucking?

Crazy doesn't even begin to scratch the surface.

"Yes, I am the author of 12 authoritative, seminal PIV-critical works which deconstruct the heteronomative male gaze phallopressive context of the objectification patriarchal yibbledyfarb himmlegrobbersntz. As a deeply respected, influential member of this important community, I have recieved many important accolades from important womyns studies and important sociology departments at important if never heard of Universities. Did i mention the importance?... Oh, right, I'm sorry, a double machiatto with cream... Coming right up"

I wonder how heavily attended jeffreys shit at that RADFEM 2012 thing was. I supect it was Jeffreys on a stage with just Dines in the audience, and then vice versa.

It's just the engine that drives one of those things is hate. While the other one more often than not results in hate, it's not what's driving it.

One also relies on funding from early onset dementia patients who want to buy their way into heaven in order to fund the spreading of their message while the other relies on books by misandrists and internet echo chambers.

So while you can certainly draw a lot of parallels, there's also enough differences to call it a nut of a different flavor.

The focus on a singular, all-pervasive evil, a "fall from grace" or original sin; a grand crusade to cleanse the world and restore the true right order, etc.

And again, it makes things real easy when you can blame all your problems on an easily identifiable bad guy.
