So how are you spending Father's Day?

The eldest and his wife are coming to our house for dinner. I'll be helping the middle one turn wrenches on his Fiero. The youngest just gave me the dorkiest Roy Rogers fathers day card ever.

It's going to be a nice day.

Probably going to do some planting in the garden with Mrs. Opie, then later, I'll take her to work and hang out with a nice cigar and a glass of scotch or two. Low-key, but nice.
Happy Father's day, everyone.

i spent all day yesterday running around to the top ten lawyers in town writing them checks for a half hour consult so she cant retain them (conflict), and this AM i'll be writing another check for, conservatively, $30K to my attny to hopefully get a judge to finally enforce her obligations under the custody order.

this will be the third trip through the family court grinder for my kid and takes the tab up past six figures. thank god I have the money, it'll be the happiest check i write all year. she gave me the gift of a monumental miscalculation and mistake, and im so grateful. its a truly good day.

I may crank the smoker up later and do a roast if I feel like it.

Went to church this morning with my daughter, I'll probably get a call later from my son (he's probably preaching today). DD got me a t-shirt I'd been wanting, (I will NOT be wearing it to work!), and talked her mother into baking cookies for me. Yay, she knows what I like!

Yes, my kids are grown and on their own. One thing about being a dad, and making sure the kids know you can be counted on--they still ask for help. Now, its not as often, just more costly.

Oh course, my partner and my children got us nothing! Well, they are puppies, so....LOL!

Happy Father's Day to all!

Those were some fuzzy years.
