AFGE, TSA Are Close to a Historic Labor Contract

AFGE National President John Gage Saturday, July 21, 2012 issued the following statement concerning the
union's negotiations with the Transportation Security Administration (TSA) for a first collective
bargaining agreement covering 45,000 Transportation Security Officers nationwide:

“Following marathon negotiations, AFGE and TSA are close to a historic labor contract. We
have partial agreement, but we ran out of time at about 3:00 a.m. today before we could
complete the entire agreement. Both parties remain committed to reaching an agreement
and will go forward from here to bring the negotiations process to a successful conclusion.”
