Neshaminy Could End 5-Year Contract Dispute

In a contract dispute that has seen more than 70 negotiation sessions, at least one strike and arguments over "equal say" and "past practice," the Neshaminy School Board and the Neshaminy Federation of Teachers, the district's teachers' union, may have come to an agreement.

"I am very pleased to report that there is a tentative settlement in the 5-year contract impasse with the Neshaminy Federation of Teachers," Neshaminy School Board President Ritchie Webb said Tuesday in a written release.

Though the particulars have not yet been revealed, the "deal between the two parties is essentially the same proposal that has been on the table since December 2012 with the addition of some contract language changes," he said.
