Organizer, St. Cloud region
ISAIAH Great River Interfaith Partnership

ISAIAH seeks an energized self-motivated person to engage GRIP congregations and grassroots leaders of faith in campaigns to promote economic, social and racial justice in the St. Cloud region and in the state of Minnesota.

The ideal applicant will have a minimum B.A. degree (or equivalent experience) and experience as community and / or labor organizer. He / She will be able to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a 
fast-paced, deadline-driven environment. An ISAIAH Organizer must display strong interpersonal, written and verbal skills and be flexible.

Applicant must either live in the St Cloud region or be willing to relocate there. GRIP/ISAIAH is open to job sharing arrangements.

External Organizer
SEIU Healthcare Minnesota

Responsibilities:

Develop organizing committees; support and lead workers during organizing drives.
Perform tasks needed in an organizing campaign, including research, list building, data entry, charting, event calendars, newsletters and campaign flyers.
Communicate with workers through house visits, phone calls, site visits and literature.
Critically think about ways to offset the employer’s anti-union campaign.
File election petition with the National Labor Relations Board.
Attend pre-election conference and assist in hearings.
Ability to effectively assess, move and test workers.
Knowledge of labor rights and contract language.
Ability to execute campaign plans.
Ability to gather, analyze and present statistical data.
Ability to establish rapport with workers in widely diversified ethnic, social and economic groups.
Ability to mobilize workers around issues.
Ability to maintain a commitment to educating the members on the Union and their contract.

Minimum Qualifications Required:

At least 2 years of experience in organizing, or a combination of education and experience to be able to meet the requirements of the job.
Demonstrated experience managing or leading project teams
Experience working under negotiated election agreements
High School Diploma or GED; Secondary Education preferred.
Computer knowledge (for data entry, correspondence and flyers).
Strong organizational and time management skills.
Strong communication skills, both oral and written.
Experience in health care field preferred.
Must have a valid driver’s license and vehicle in good working condition. Must have proof of auto insurance.

The Organizer at SEIU Healthcare must carry out a variety of job functions; will implement strategies for organizing campaigns; and work closely with staff at SEIU Healthcare, members on lost time and/or International staff on campaigns. An Organizer must be willing to work long, irregular hours and often weekends and evenings. Organizers must be willing to travel.

IT HELP DESK SUPPORT SPECIALIST
AFSCME Council 5

AFSCME MN Council 5 is currently seeking applicants for the position of IT Help Desk Support Specialist. A brief description and qualifications for the position are shown below.

This IT Help Desk Support Specialist position is full-time (37.5 hours per week), Monday through Friday between the hours of 8:30 AM and 4:30 PM and shall be based out of the South St. Paul Office. Starting wage is $2849.00/month.

Job Duties/Responsibilities:

• Receive and record technical and/or application support calls from end users.
• Provide investigation, diagnosis, resolution and recovery for hardware/software problems. When unable to resolve, escalate to second or third level in accordance with Help Desk escalation processes.
• Maintain overall ownership of user’s issue & service ensuring that they receive resolution within a reasonable timeframe.
• Provide initial assessment of urgency and business impact on all support calls.
• Manage service requests, software installations, new computer setups, upgrades, etc.
• Record incident resolutions in the Help Desk tool.
• Provide enhancement request feedback to IT regarding technology environment and customer needs through the defined processes.
• Support the following technologies: Microsoft Office 2010 products – Outlook, Word, Excel, Access, Internet Explorer, Windows XP, desktops, laptops, printers, networked copiers, NIC’s, basic LAN/WAN connectivity, LogMeIn, VNC, and others as assigned.
• Monitor daily backups.
• Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
• Ability to communicate well with internal and external contacts.

Desired Qualifications:

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• 1-2 years directly related work experience in a technical help desk position supporting Windows XP, Microsoft Office 2010, Internet Explorer and business applications in a business environment.
• Knowledge of multiple desktop programs, configuration and debugging techniques.
• Strong work ethic, detail oriented as well as excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Sound problem resolution, judgment and decision-making.
• Ability to lift and move equipment weighing 30-40lbs.
• Experience supporting Windows XP, Microsoft Office Outlook in an Exchange Environment, Internet Explorer, basic hardware issues, desktops, laptops, printers, and mobile devices both in person and remotely.
• Experience with TCP/IP and general networking issues.
• Experience providing superior customer service and support.
• Experience working effectively in a team environment, communicating effectively, resolving issues efficiently, and contributing to the improvement of the infrastructure.
• Strong interpersonal and organization skills, successful in working both independently and in a team environment.
• Strong problem solving skills.
• Adhere to all corporate policies and procedures.
