The City of Omaha and Omaha’s fire union have reached a tentative labor agreement.

Mayor Jean Stothert and the Omaha Professional Fire Fighters Association provided some details Friday about the proposed four-year deal.

Stothert said the agreement would save the city $3.6 million.

According to the Mayor’s Office and the union:

» Firefighters would enroll in a health care plan administered by the union, rather than the city. The city would pay for health care premiums, frozen at the 2015 rate. The union proposed the change.
